Become a Contributor

Thanks for your interest in contributing some content to Gayniacs.org! We’re really excited to have such a strong community of bright and creative people to work with. To make sure that we can keep this website going for a long time, we have a brief on-boarding process that we ask all potential contributors to complete. The good news is that we’ve kept it to a single form!

Once your application has been approved by a member of our Editorial Staff, your account will be upgraded and you’ll be able to create posts in the same editor we use. We suggest that, while waiting for your application to be approved, you review the WordPress documentation, or ask in Discord if you have any specific questions!

When you’re ready to post your first piece of content, you’ll need to let a member of the Editorial Staff know. At first, all content from new contributors will need to be approved. Once you have a track record of writing great content, we’ll let you schedule it yourself (though, of course, your content may be rescheduled depending on our needs).

Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure that Gayniacs.org remains a space that’s curated and maintained by the Carolina Gayniacs, we require everyone to have a Discord account and be an active member of our server (that means that you’ve accepted the rules there). Once you’ve done that, you should be able to sign in. If you’re still having trouble, email [email protected] and we’ll help.

No. You will not be paid to contribute anything to Gayniacs.org, whether that be photos or articles. However, we will provide you with an author page and give you credit for everything that you contribute. And if, in the future, we do consider some form of contribution system, we’d let you know before anyone else!

Yes. All content that’s submitted to the website will be reviewed by our editorial staff before it goes live. As part of your agreement when submitting content, you’ll give us permission to make minor changes (such as fixing spelling errors, formatting problems, etc.). We will consult with you before making any substantive changes, and will never publish something under your name without your consent.

We’ll be sorry to see you go, but we certainly understand!

As part of your agreement when submitting content to us, you give us permanent and irrevocable permission to use your content on Gayniacs.org, across all mediums (as long as we credit you). It would be very difficult to remove one person’s content without disrupting the site. We will, however, at your request, remove your credit from content, and instead attribute it to an “Anonymous Gayniacs.org Contributor.” You will be asked to complete a short form relinquishing your rights to be credited.

If, in the future, you would like to contribute content again, you will need to reapply. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to re-credit you on previous content, though, so please be sure about your choice.

Yes and no. You will need to apply to be a contributor under your real name, but once you’ve been approved, we’re happy to publish your content under as an “Anonymous Gayniacs.org Contributor” name.

We’re really not sure! This is pretty new to us. We won’t take too long, and you’ll receive an email when you’re approved.
